Gothic Blackletter Basics (Beginners)

This is a 3 hour ‘crash course’ aimed at anyone wanting to learn the absolute basics of the Gothic Blackletter (Textura Quadrata). Suitable for complete beginners. This workshop will be fun and is meant to demystify calligraphy and give you a little taste of what it’s all about without leaving you feeling overwhelmed.. it’s NOT going to be a serious workshop, and you’re not going to leave as a Calligraphy Master! 😃

We’ll cover the following: The correct way to hold your calligraphy pen, basic lowercase and uppercase Gothic alphabet, how to select and purchase a pen, how to care for your calligraphy pen.

We’ll be using Pilot Parallel calligraphy pens during the workshop, and there will be pens for sale during the workshop as well as ink and paper 😝 (especially for all the pen addicts)
