Welcome to the Brush Lettering Online Course!
These are all the resources that you need for your course.. there are notes, alphabet practice sheets and word practice sheets.
The practice sheets are all designed for small pens.. if you are not sure which size your pens are, then have a look at the ‘Which Pens…?’ section (see below for link).
I would highly recommend that you start learning brush lettering using small nib brush pens only as it is much easier than using larger pens. If you have purchased my ‘Brush Lettering Starter Kit’ then you will have all the right pens and paper already.

Before you begin you will need to make sure that you have the correct paper to write on.. If you have Tombow Fudenosuke brush pens then you can just use normal lined paper, e.g. school book or exam pad, but I would highly recommend using a better quality of paper such as Rhodia or Canson Marker paper.. you can even use tracing paper if you have some. DO NOT use printer paper if you can help it as it is quite rough and may damage your pens..
Click on the ‘Which Paper..? button if you would like to know more about the different kinds of paper out there.
Which paper should I use to practice on?
How do I know if my pens are large or small pens, and which ones should I buy if I don’t have any yet?
These are the notes for the Basic Strokes (which are the building blocks for the brush lettering alphabet) and the Lowercase Alphabet.
Print them out and use them with with all the Practice Sheets below.
These are lined sheets with the basic strokes at the top for reference. There is one for small brush pens and one for large brush pens. Use them with the Basic Strokes notes (see above). We will cover the Basic Strokes in Lesson 1
These are the Lowercase Alphabet Notes and some lined practice sheets with the lowercase letters along the side for reference. There is one for small brush pens and one for large brush pens. We will start the Lowercase Alphabet in Lesson 2. There is also a Lowercase Words Practice Sheet for small pens for you to use on your own.
