These are all the resources that you need for this workshop.. There are notes and practice sheets - there are options for small and large brush pens…. If you are not sure which size your pens are then have a look at the ‘Which Pens…?’ section (see below for link)

For this workshop you will need the following:

• Notes and practice sheets (see below)

• You can just use normal lined paper (school book, exam pad, etc.) for this class, or tracing paper to trace over the practice sheets.

• You need to have your brush pen and a normal pen or pencil for making notes.

What is a Brush Pen..?

You will need a brush pen for this workshop, but you may already have some lying around and not even realise it.. Here’s a video and some info to help you tell if your pens are large or small brush pens, and which ones should you buy if you don’t have any yet?

How To Hold Your Brush Pen Correctly

Before you start writing you need to learn how to hold your brush pen correctly.. I do cover this in the Basic Strokes workshop, but this video is more in depth.

Print out these notes for the Basic Strokes (which are the building blocks for the brush lettering alphabet)

Practice Sheets for the Basic Strokes

These are lined sheets with the basic strokes at the top for reference. There is one for small brush pens and one for large brush pens, so print the one that works for the pens you have (see above if you are not sure which pens you have).
